Google announced that they have added new tools to bulk update ads within the AdWords interface. The additional tools are aimed at helping online advertisers update settings across campaigns in just a few clicks. This means that advertisers are now allowed to do three major things:
- Filter for campaigns targeting a specific location.
- Update multiple campaigns with a new targeted location.
- Adjust settings such as language, campaign end dates, and ad rotation.
Lets say youve just extended your business operations to Mexico, and would like all of your US campaigns to target Mexico as well. You can filter to quickly find all of your campaigns targeting the US, so you can add Mexico as an additional location to those campaigns with just a few clicks. [See Figure 1]
Here are the steps needed to access the tool:
- Sign in to your AdWords account
- Click the Campaigns tab at the top
- Click the Settings sub-tab
- Check the box next to the campaigns you want to edit
- From the Edit menu, select the attribute that you want to change
- Specify your changes in the box that appears
- Finalize your action by clicking Make changes
However, some users have expressed their concern that this new update may soon be the end of the AdWords Editor. To address this, Matt Lawson, Googles Director of Performance Ads Marketing, released a statement on the issue during a live chat on Twitter:
Were committed to the success of our advertisers and AdWords Editor is very much a part of that. We have some big updates coming soon that we know will get people excited. Lets just say demise is the last word Id use to describe one of our favorite tools.
