Social Media Examiner & Endlessrise Highlight the Benefits of Social Media Marketing
Brands and marketers who want to reach out to a highly engaged and large audience often turn to social media. As stated in a recent blog post by Endlessrise (@EndlessRise_Inc), a leading design and online marketing outsourcing company, “Today’s most influential social media sites—Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Instagram—have millions of monthly active users who spend millions of hours each day on their favorite social media sites.”
Despite their size, social media audiences still exhibit immense potential for growth. On the other hand, as detailed in Social Media Examiner’s recent study, 2015 Social Media Marketing Industry Report, marketers are eager to learn more about the tactics that drive social media marketing. Marketers also want to learn more about the best ways to engage their social media audiences, measure their social media ROI, identify and reach out to their target audience, and utilize the best social management tools.
Marketers Love Social Media Marketing, Though Less Than Half Can Measure Their Social Media ROI
Social Media Examiner surveyed over 3700 marketers with the goal of understanding how marketers use social media to grow and promote their businesses. Ninety-six percent of respondents stated that they “participate in social media marketing. Moreover, 92% of respondents stated that social media was important to their businesses.”
In contrast, only 42% of respondents stated that they were able to measure their social media ROI. “This represents a slight improvement from last year, when 37% indicated they were able to measure their social media ROI.”
As highlighted by Social Media Examiner, marketers can measure their campaigns’ social media ROI by setting social media goals, determining the right social media platforms to use, tracking their campaigns, reporting on results, as well as reviewing results and resetting goals.
Social Media Marketing Offers Numerous Benefits
As demonstrated in Figure 1, social media marketing offers marketers and their businesses numerous benefits. The top benefit derived from social media marketing is increased exposure (90%), followed by increased traffic (77%).
The third greatest benefit derived from social media marketing is the development of loyal fans (69%), followed by increased marketplace insight (68%) and improved lead generation (65%).
According to Endlessrise, “social media marketing can amplify a business’s online and offline visibility and can drive targeted traffic to business websites.” Marketers were also advised to develop rapport with their social media audiences by posting interesting and relevant content.
